501 Weekend Guide: Fall Festivals, Music and Family Fun October 16–18 |
Hillcrest HarvestFest, live performances, museum activities and Halloween outings fill the Central Arkansas calendar |

Central Arkansas has a full calendar of fall outings from Friday, October 16, through Sunday, October 18, with options for families, music fans and anyone ready to enjoy a neighborhood tradition.
Friday, October 16: Music Around Little Rock
Country singer Lauren Alaina is scheduled to perform at The Hall on Friday evening.
Cody Hibbard is also scheduled at Stickyz for an 8 p.m. performance.
Families seeking a gentler Halloween activity can look into Friendly Frights at the Shoppach House in Benton, with evening sessions listed for October 16–17.
Admission, parking and ticket availability should be confirmed with each organizer before leaving home.
Saturday, October 17: Hillcrest HarvestFest
One of the weekend's biggest neighborhood gatherings is the annual Hillcrest HarvestFest along Kavanaugh Boulevard.
The event features local vendors, food trucks, a children's area, a costumed dog show and live music.
Organizers list live performances beginning at noon, with an evening finale, and proceeds from festival activities support the Allen School.
Festival admission is free, while optional upgraded experiences and individual purchases carry separate costs.
Also Saturday morning, the Hillcrest Farmers Market runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at 2200 Kavanaugh Boulevard.
The market offers produce and other locally sold goods, making it an easy morning stop before other weekend plans.
Saturday, October 17: Arts, Music and Community
The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts has a Creative Saturdays activity featuring water-marbled cards.
North Little Rock's Argenta neighborhood is also scheduled to host live music at Argenta Plaza.
Later in the evening, TRIPPP is scheduled at Stickyz, with doors at 7 p.m. and an 8 p.m. show.
At the Old State House Museum, Ghost Hunting 101 is listed for 6 to 9 p.m. as a ticketed after-hours program.
Saturday and Sunday: Performing Arts
Robinson Center is scheduled to present a Halloween Spooktacular collaboration involving Arkansas Circus Arts across October 17 and 18.
Sunday offers another opportunity to catch that performance for families who cannot attend Saturday.
Make the Most of the Weekend
Popular fall events can bring crowds and changing parking conditions, particularly in established neighborhood districts.
Arriving early and checking the latest event notices can make the day more enjoyable.
Whether you choose one major festival or several smaller stops, this weekend offers plenty of ways to reconnect with Central Arkansas. |
