A Southern favorite comes back to South Main

After taking a year off, the Arkansas Cornbread Festival returns on Saturday, November 7, bringing food, local music and an easygoing community celebration to Little Rock’s South Main (SoMa) district. The festival runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. around 14th and Main streets, including the Bernice Garden area, and organizers say it will take place rain or shine.

The competition is the main attraction

Amateur home cooks and professional cornbread makers will compete with family recipes and inventive variations on the Arkansas staple. Visitors can sample entries with a tasting ticket and cast votes for the People’s Choice Award. The festival also includes a Best of Show competition, giving cooks a chance to see how their recipes measure up.

Admission is free; tasting requires a ticket

General admission includes access to live entertainment, shopping vendors and children’s activities at no charge. A $20 cornbread tasting ticket is needed to sample competing entries and take part in the tasting vote. Festival organizers recommend arriving early because samples can run out.

Music, makers and something for children

The event includes more than 30 local vendors, area food trucks, a Cosmo Kids Zone and live music. Regional reporting lists performers including the Grass Fed Pickers, Reese Von Storch, S. Juain Young & Artists United, Rock City Diamond Line Dancers, Dikki Du & The Zydeco Krewe and Arky Cloggers. The mix makes the festival a destination even for visitors who prefer browsing and listening over tasting.

Food with a community purpose

The Arkansas Cornbread Festival has been held since 2011 and helps spotlight independent businesses along South Main. Organizers say proceeds benefit the Arkansas Foodbank and the Arkansas Cornbread Festival, both nonprofit organizations. The return after a year's absence also makes the 2026 edition a noteworthy neighborhood gathering.
