Ballet Arkansas Reimagines The Great Gatsby October 23–25 |
Four performances at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts immerse audiences in a Roaring Twenties world |

Ballet Arkansas is bringing a fresh version of The Great Gatsby to Little Rock, with four performances scheduled October 23–25 at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts.
The production draws on F. Scott Fitzgerald's Jazz Age story but aims to create an experience extending beyond a conventional stage presentation.
Executive and Artistic Director Michael Fothergill describes an immersive approach, with performers making use of the auditorium, seating areas and surrounding spaces.
A different kind of ballet experience
The company previously staged the story in 2021, when pandemic restrictions limited the scale of the presentation.
This version adds more opportunities to bring the energy of the Roaring Twenties into the performance environment.
Music associated with the era, including the work of George Gershwin and Fats Waller, helps establish the setting.
Fothergill's contemporary choreography offers another way to interpret the story's glamour and tensions.
The production also helps launch Michael and Catherine Fothergill's tenth season leading Ballet Arkansas.
Performance schedule
Friday, October 23: 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 24: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, October 25: 2 p.m.
The reported ticket range is $25 to $50, subject to availability and current pricing.
Performances take place at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock.
