Where to Celebrate July 4 and America 250 Around Central Arkansas

From fireworks over the Arkansas River to hometown festivals and America 250 celebrations, here's where to celebrate across Central Arkansas this Independence Day week.

Central Arkansas has a packed Independence Day week this year, with fireworks, concerts, family festivals and special America 250 events marking the nation’s 250th birthday.

In Little Rock, the biggest celebration is Pops on the River on Saturday, July 4. The free downtown event includes food trucks, vendors, live music, a patriotic concert by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and fireworks over the Main Street Bridge at 9:15 p.m. Gates at First Security Amphitheater open at 5 p.m.

The week starts early at Little Rock Air Force Base, where Liberty Fest 2026 is planned for Wednesday, July 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Park. The event includes food, games, carnival rides, bounce houses, live music and fireworks.

Several nearby cities are holding their own celebrations. Cabot’s Pops at the Plex is set for Thursday, July 2, from 6:30 to 9:45 p.m. at Cabot Sportsplex. Benton’s Red, White & Boom is planned for Friday, July 3, at the River Center parking lot, with organizers promoting it as Saline County’s largest and longest fireworks show.

On July 4, Maumelle’s Fourth Fest runs from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at Lake Willastein, while Conway’s Red, White & Toad: America’s 250th Birthday Bash starts at 10 a.m. at Toad Suck Mini Golf. Conway also has a Lights Over the Lake celebration listed at Beaverfork Lake with food trucks, family activities, a patriotic concert and fireworks after dark.

For a history-focused outing, the Old State House Museum has opened “Arkansas250 Exhibit: Before Us, Beyond Us,” an exhibit exploring 250 years of Arkansas history. It runs through Dec. 11 at 300 W. Markham St. in Little Rock.

Families willing to make a short road trip can also look toward Hot Springs, where the national park is hosting an America 250 parade and picnic, and Lake Hamilton fireworks are scheduled for July 4 after dark.

Before heading out, check each organizer’s latest updates for weather changes, parking instructions and prohibited items.
