A familiar toy-store name may be making another appearance in Central Arkansas.

A local television report published October 21 says Toys ‘R’ Us plans a new location in Central Arkansas, part of renewed interest in the retailer's national comeback.

The available report does not specify a verifiable local address, exact opening day, or whether the store will be seasonal.

What we know

The company has been expanding through a mix of smaller stores and retail partnerships since its former nationwide store network closed in 2018.

Earlier this month, an additional Arkansas location was announced at Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville, outside the 501 Daily coverage area.

The new Central Arkansas report suggests the retailer's footprint could expand further in the state.

What remains to be confirmed

Residents should not assume that a particular Little Rock shopping center or former Toys ‘R’ Us building has been selected.

A confirmed address, store format, opening date and operating schedule are still needed before shoppers make plans.

The announcement may interest families approaching the holiday shopping season, but details should be checked against the retailer or host shopping center before publication.

501 Daily will update this story when location and opening information become available.
